10 Things on a Monday

1. My son got a Leap Pad for Christmas. This thing EATS batteries. (Anyone else have this problem?) I swear we replace them every other day- 4 AA batteries. It took me until this weekend to figure out that I should probably get some rechargeable ones... duh!

2. Cucumber water is ah-mazing.

3. I painted my nails 3 times on Saturday. THREE TIMES! I cannot keep nail polish on to save my life. Thank you Essie, for creating miracle polish that is mommy-proof. The 3rd time was the charm. My nails now look like disco balls.

4. We E-filed our taxes 2 weeks ago. Our refund appeared in our account today. Magical, I tell you.

5. Anyone watch the show Alcatraz? I want to like it. I really do. Its just so... blah. Someone tell me it gets better? I'm 3 episodes in.

6. My littles have never-ending colds. We are going on two weeks here. Most of my time is spent wiping noses these days, poor kiddos. I picked up some Boogie Wipes at the store, and let me tell ya, they are my new best friend. No more red noses!

7. I am making these for dinner tonight.

8. Hubs and I are addicted to the show Pawn Stars. It is our guilty little pleasure when the kiddos go to bed. Rick is like an endless fountain of knowledge... I might be a little jealous.

9. The Disneyland iPad app. Wow.

10. Have you been participating in the February Photo A Day Challenge? Check it. I'm bummed that I missed January, this is such an awesome idea!

Well, I think its about time for an update!
I've been sort of M.I.A for nearly two months now.
And no, I'm not pregnant.

I'm going to be honest with you guys, when I started this blog, I had no idea what I was getting into.
It was meant to be a way for me to get my business out there, and share some of what I love.
I had big ideas. I had a vision in my head of where I wanted to be with this.
And then, slowly, I felt this big, overwhelming wave wash over me.

I felt like a tiny, tiny fish in an enormous pond. Suddenly, my to-do list grew a mile longer,  the hours in the day grew drastically shorter, and I had just barely gotten my feet wet.
So much work goes into blogging behind the scenes, and it takes so much time and commitment just to get your name out there.
I wasn't getting anywhere, and it wasn't fun anymore. I was losing time with my kiddos, my husband, and I wanted it back.

After a lot of contemplation, frustration, and prayer,
I decided to take a break.
I spent the entire month of December with my family and friends, and I didn't worry about blogging.
I didn't worry about giveaways, or promoting.
I felt amazing.
January came, and while I was thinking about my resolutions, I debated whether or not I wanted to continue blogging at all.

This year, my resolutions had a common theme;
I came upon this quote, and fell in love.
This is my theme for 2012. Be The Change.
If I want things to change, I can make that happen. I can create my own path, my own balance.
I can be my own inspiration, and really make things different,
even if its just in a small way.

Keeping this in mind, I decided to continue blogging. Or rather, start back up again.
I still had a vision. I still wanted to do something. To create. To share.
However, it won't be an obligation.
Sometimes I will have to say, "No."
It won't take time away from my family.
And if I don't enjoy it anymore, I will stop.

I'm back.
I will be posting again.
I will be sharing things I love.
I will be adding inventory.
But I won't be driving myself crazy.
I'm not in a blogging competition.
My posts will be honest, and real.
And sometimes they will be short and sweet.

Have you been struggling with a decision?
How do you find your peace?

10 Random Facts and a Discount

Hello Monday!
Today is a good day. My little man came back from Disneyland this morning, and I've been missing him like cray-cray! I'm spending the day having fun with my littles, so in the mean time, here are some lovely random facts about yours truly.

1. I have an obsession with 80's movies, and thus have developed fan-girl crushes on Jon Cusack,
Rob Lowe, Billy Crystal, Emilio Estevez, Michael Keaton, and yes, Pauly Shore (even though he did more movies in the 90's we will still count him). Gross right? I can't help it.

2. The number 17 has become very special to me.

3. I cannot for the life of me sit at a desk and study/read. I can't sit in one place for very long before my mind starts wandering to all the other things/projects I could be doing instead, and I get distracted easily if I am not interested. I always have several projects going at the same time- drives my husband crazy! Its a sickness... I'm working on it. ADD much?

4. I love photography. LOVE. One day I will have my own photography business.

5. I have the oddest, most realistic dreams. This is amplified massively when I am pregnant. I should really keep a dream journal.

6. I really despise drinking water, and have to gag it down.

7. I am slightly superstitious. Not in the black-cat, don't-walk-under-a-ladder way, but I have my own little quirks.

8. I would rather scrub a toilet than blow-dry my hair. I hate it that much. It takes f o r e v e r.

9. I LOVE red velvet cake. And I love cream cheese frosting even more. Mmm...

10. I have seen every episode of The Golden Girls at least 25 times. No joke. The show is like Chicken Soup for me when I am not feeling great; it basically cures all :)

I want to know 10 random facts about you.
Ready... GO!

Oh, and just because you are awesome and read this post, I am offering a 15% discount in my shop!

Helping Hands Milk Bank and Prematurity Awareness

Did you know?

November is Prematurity Awareness month, and November 17 is Prematurity Awareness day.

Maybe you are one of the lucky mamas that gave birth to a perfectly healthy, full-term babe.
You never had to endure the heart wrenching trips to the NICU; never had to see your perfect little bundle hooked up to machines and monitors.
You never spent tear-filled days and nights agonizing over their health,  just wishing you could take them home safe and sound in your arms.
You never had to foot the outrageously expensive hospital bill that comes with that priceless NICU care.

Or maybe you did. Maybe you are one of the mamas that knows this pain first-hand.

Maybe you aren't even a mama. But I bet you know one.

In any case, I'd like to take this opportunity to raise awareness to a cause that I truly believe is important.

A cause that helps to save precious lives.

"Helping Hands Milk Bank is stepping up its efforts to find mothers who have excess breast milk they can donate to help critically ill premature infants."
